Threads (2000)

Gayle Chong Kwan, Threads, Greenwich Citizens Gallery, London, 2000

Half-finished sentences were sewn into the seams and folds of clothes, which I had found in a deserted house near to the gallery.  The unfinished sentences describe the interior and atmosphere of the deserted house where the  clothes were abandoned.  The sewn clothes were then given to the circle of second-hand clothes shops which surround the gallery, so that nothing of the project was visible in the exhibition but only if chanced upon or the clothes bought or even then if the sentences were discovered.
